Prince George joined his dad William to watch soccer team Aston Villa play against Lille OSC and fans can’t cope at how much he looks like his dad.

The 10-year-old royal, who will be turning 11 this summer, was enjoying an evening watching the sport with the future king of Britain. Prince George and his dad William celebrated Aston Villa’s 2-1 victory, as the youngster sported a branded scarf depicting the club. It’s the first public outing of both Prince William and the Princess of Wales’ child after she revealed she had been diagnosed with cancer. Fans can’t get over the cute moments between the two, including when William was seen turning to George to speak to him when a goal was scored.

Prince George and William enjoy Aston Villa game

Prince William and George’s father-son outing at the Aston Villa game is the first time any members of the Wales’ have been seen publicly since March 22.

This is when Kate Middleton announced she had been diagnosed with a form of cancer in an emotional video. She explained doctors found the disease after she underwent planned abdominal surgery in January.

The mom-of-three is currently receiving preventative chemotherapy treatment, as Kensington Palace said both William and Kate were touched by the outpouring of support following the news.

It comes after the Wales’ missed the Easter Sunday Service which King Charles attended at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.

Charles, who has been receiving treatment for cancer as well, has been continuing with low-key duties behind palace walls. While his public duties have been scaled back, he made an appearance at the March 31 service.

He was seen shaking hands with fans as they sent him well wishes and called out ‘Happy Easter’.

William is a soccer fan, and has taken Prince George to other games, including Aston Villa game in 2019. He also took the youngster to watch England reach the quarter-finals in 2020 for the Euros.

‘He’s getting very tall’

After the game, the pair headed home, and they were seen walking together, but royal fans couldn’t get over how tall the youngster is.

One fan wrote: “George is getting very tall,” while others on Twitter said how much he looks like his dad.

Another said: “Prince George is Prince William’s mini me. His special nickname for his father is “Pops”.”

A third penned: “So wonderful that Prince William and Prince George were seen in public together in their first outing since the announcement of Kate Middleton’s illness.”

“Wow look who’s out and about today,” a fourth gushed. “It’s our two marvelous future Kings watching a football match this evening.”

While another fan shared a photo of William and his son at the Aston Villa game and said: “Prince George is growing up so fast. A handsome young lad.”
