Rita Ora made her mark at the 2023 Fashion Awards at the Royal Albert Hall in London on Monday, as she sported a chrome prosthetic spike spine down her back.
It’s not the first time the music star has dared to be different. Last year, she showcased some facial prosthetics, shaped like fins. This time, the 33-year-old was going even bigger with the spikes, which took two to three hours to put on her back.
Rita Ora adds spiked back spines to surprisingly affordable dress
We’re sure the Body on Me star is the first to wear a spiky spine to a Red Carpet, and she’s also the first to wear a Primark dress to walk the British Fashion Awards Red Carpet.
“I’ve got this incredible Primark dress which I decided to wear to the BFAs which has never been done before,” Ora explained in an Instagram video.
“We went really simple on the dress because the spine is such a big part of the look.”
The star has a collection with the affordable retailer, which will sell 500 replicas of the dress. Proceeds will be donated to Breast Cancer Now.
In her Instagram post, she posted a number of shots of her back showing off the unique spine, as well as a video on the process.
Fans were obsessed with the look, as they took to the comments to compliment the singer.
“A fashion icon! We stan,” penned one.
Another wrote: “Incredible, and for such a worthy cause [clapping emoji]”
A look back at the star’s ‘face fins’
This look was too iconic to not take a look back on.
In 2022, the star wore facial prosthetics at the same award show, placed around her eyes and cheekbones. The ‘fins’ were highlighted with her bleached eyebrows and red lipstick.
Her dress last year also drew attention as she wore a red “naked dress” from designer Nensi Dojaka.
The dress featured a red bra top with heart details and a completely sheer skirt which showed off the singer’s red underwear.
